home sick

Longing is a strange emotion.  It tricks us into thinking that when we return to the place that we long for that everything will be solved, as if arriving at that place resolves all of the inaccuracies in our lives.  Walking to the gym this afternoon on another raining Saturday afternoon, I contemplated this feeling.  I promptly went straight into my workout and blocked all of those thoughts out to focus on the physical activity.  However, it still exists, at most it coexists – this feeling of longing for something more, more than this place I am in now, more than the interactions around me, more than what I have gotten myself into.  I just wonder when I can break free.
