I was driving across the Golden Gate Bridge this morning in my little Jetta, when I realized that I should make a blog. Like other blogs out there in this expansive internet, it was impulsive. But sort of a fun idea.
The real motivation behind it, instead of posting funny youtube vids about dancing dogs or funny hats or something totally useful like that, I am going to share my life for the fall 2009 semester with friends. Since I will be so far away from Wesleyan for the semester and those individuals who are abroad across seas and mountains, it seemed like an appropriate thing. I will be back in the spring semester.

It is clearly an original thing: make a blog; talk about the cra-cra-crazy people that you meet. Some San Francisco bums are colorful.
BUT WAIT . . . there is so much more. Originally, I intended to go abroad for the fall semester 2009. With Italian visa and a 2-way ticket in hand, I put my previous plans of attending SACI (Studio Art Center International) art school in Florence, Italy on hold to take care of myself. Technically, all of this movement is kosher because I am 6 credits ahead at Wesleyan (i.e. a semester and a half, how did this happen?!) and looked at the semester after CSS comps (aka hell in a stress closet/4th floor carrel) to be one of discovery.
Off to Europe? Nah. Going to the gold coast.

Now, I am staying at home in Marin while attending the infamous San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) in Russian Hill (quite close to that oh so over-filmed whindy end of Lombard st.) while taking French at the University of San Francisco (USF). SFAI has taught artists such as Ansel Adams, Jerry Garcia, Anne Leibovitz, Diego Rivera and Virgil Williams, along with an impressive faculty of artists, writers, etc.
My schedule is not finalized yet at the Art Institute, but it should be soon. I will update with my complete classes soon.
Hang on, take a deep breath, as I do art school on the Gold Coast.
